PERISCOPE Shop for Tall

This Privacy Policy has been prepared for users visiting the website https://periscope-shop.com (hereinafter the “Website”), i.e. the PERISCOPE Shop for Tall online store (hereinafter the “Store”).

The controller of your personal data in connection with your use of the Store is: Joanna Lipska, an entrepreneur conducting business under the name Tall Story Joanna Lipska – Łysek, with its registered office at: Promienna 10, 55-330 Lutynia, entered in the Central Register and Information on Economic Activity (CEIDG), VAT ID (NIP): 7962278883, REGON: 541618706.

In all matters related to the processing of personal data, you may contact us by email at: office@periscope-shop.com. You may also contact us in writing at the registered office address provided above.

For your convenience, we have divided this document into two parts:

  • Cookies and other technologies

  • Other purposes of processing personal data of Store users

If you are short on time, you may click the link related to the part you are most interested in. If you have a bit more time, we encourage you to read the entire text.

1. COOKIES AND OTHER TECHNOLOGIES

We use cookies and other similar mechanisms to understand how users use our Website and for marketing purposes, including displaying ads in other places on the Internet.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file stored by a website on your computer, phone, or other device used to browse the Internet. A cookie contains information about your use of that website.

Some cookies are necessary for our Store to operate and cannot be disabled.

In all other cases, when you first visit our Website we ask you to consent to the installation of cookies. We do not use advertising or analytical cookies (or any cookies other than those that are strictly necessary) without your consent.

What cookies do we use?

Essential cookies

These cookies are used for the proper operation of the Website. You cannot disable them because if you do, our Website simply will not function properly.

In this regard, we use a tool that stores your privacy settings. It shows your consent or lack of consent to enable specific categories of cookies on our Website.

Other essential cookies on our Website are used to ensure its proper functioning and management, including implementing changes on the Website and enabling tracking tools to which you have consented.

Statistical analysis of our Website

We use tools that collect analytical data, which helps us understand how users use our Website. The data we obtain from these tools does not provide us with information about a specific person known by name, but allows us to record various aspects of how a given user uses the Website.

We may aggregate and analyze this data statistically and then use it to make decisions about changes to our Store and/or the ways we conduct advertising and marketing communications.

A list of analytical tools used on the Website, along with information on:
(1) who provides the tool,
(2) what it is used for,
(3) what data is collected under the tool,
can be found in Appendix No. 1 to this Policy.

Advertising cookies

We use advertising tools that allow us to display our ads on other websites you visit, including social media (so-called targeted ads), measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, and tailor the content of our messages addressed to you based on the information we have about you.

In the Store, we offer newsletter subscriptions. Therefore, cookies are used to embed the subscription form on our Website and to measure the effectiveness of sign-ups through this form. Modern email marketing systems allow us to combine analytical data from email campaigns with analytical data from the Store. We may use this data to optimize the content of emails sent to newsletter subscribers.

A list of advertising tools used on the Website, together with information on:
(1) who provides the tool,
(2) what it is used for,
can be found in Appendix No. 1 to this Policy, and in summary form also in the cookie consent management panel.

Functional cookies

Some cookies on our Website are used to enable additional tools on the Store Website, such as: chat, product review and/or rating modules, recommending a product to a friend, displaying products you have recently viewed in our Store, etc.

A list of functional tools used on our Website, along with information about what they are used for, can be found in the cookie consent management panel.

Social media plugins and links

On our Website, we have placed links to our social media profiles: Facebook / Instagram / TikTok. If you visit our profile on a given platform, the operator of that platform will receive—just as when users move from any other website to another website—information that you reached those services from our Store.

Details regarding data processing by these social media services can be found on the providers’ websites:
Facebook and Instagram - https://www.facebook.com/privacy/center/
TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/legal/page/eea/privacy-policy/pl-PL

In the Store, we use social media plugins that enable, for example: sharing a product from our Store on your profile / liking our product on Facebook / saving an image from our Website to your Pinterest account. Using such plugins involves transferring to the operators of those social networks information from cookies:

  • the service provider will receive information that your browser displayed our Website, even if you are not logged into that social media service or do not have an account there;

  • if you were logged into one of the above-mentioned social media services before visiting our Store, the operator of the service may directly link your visit to our Website to your profile on that service.

If you do not want social media platforms to associate data collected during your visit to the Store with your social media account, please log out of those services before visiting our Website.

Videos

Some videos on the Website are embedded using plugins from YouTube (a service owned by Google) / Instagram (owned by Meta Platforms) / TikTok. When you play such a video on our Website, Google / Instagram / TikTok receives this information from your browser, even if you do not have a Google/YouTube account / do not have an Instagram account / do not have a TikTok account, or you are not currently logged in. If you were previously logged in to the relevant service, the provider may directly associate the video playback with your profile.

If you want to prevent Google / Instagram / TikTok from collecting information about your activity on our Website, you may:

  • not play the video (consent to play a video will be treated as consent that also applies to other videos embedded on our Website—until you withdraw it, i.e. change your cookie choices),

  • not consent to cookies from that service on our Website,

  • or log out of that service.

More information about data processing by YouTube / Instagram / TikTok can be found at:
https://www.youtube.com/account_privacy / https://help.instagram.com/help/instagram/1896641480634370/?locale=pl_PL / https://www.tiktok.com/legal/page/eea/privacy-policy/pl-PL.

Legal matters regarding cookies

The legal basis for the use of essential cookies by the Store (as indicated above in the section “What cookies do we use?”) is our legitimate interest, i.e. the right to operate a Website supporting our business and the necessity to ensure its security.

The legal basis for our use of other cookies is your consent.

In connection with our processing of your personal data through cookies, you have the rights described in the section “Your rights in connection with data processing”.

Our use of cookies—especially for advertising purposes—may involve profiling. This means that we or the marketing companies whose services we use may create a user profile based on collected information (e.g. email address, order history, device type, technology used, frequency of visits) and, on this basis, make predictions about future purchases. This allows us to decide what content (including ads) to display on our Website and on other websites.

How long do cookies remain on the user’s device?

This depends on whether they are “persistent” or “session” cookies. Session cookies—information necessary for browser functionality—expire after the end of the user session, i.e. each time you close our Website. Persistent cookies, which make the Website easier to use (e.g. by remembering selected resolution, layout, user preferences, last viewed products), are stored by the browser for a longer period and remain until they expire, unless you delete them earlier using your browser settings.

Third-party cookies (i.e. analytical, advertising, and social media-related cookies) are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties, links to which are provided in this Policy.

2. Other purposes of processing personal data of Store users

How long do we process data?

We process your data related to placing an order in the Store for as long as necessary to fulfill the order, and also in accordance with accounting and tax regulations.

In addition, we will process data for the period necessary to achieve the purposes listed above in the table (i.e. until our legitimate interest enabling processing ceases, or until you object to processing, or until you withdraw your marketing consent—if you have granted it). Further processing will be possible only where we, as the controller, are subject to a legal obligation (in particular for tax purposes) and/or for archiving purposes to protect ourselves against potential claims (until the limitation period for such claims expires).

To whom do we disclose your data?

In our operations, we use services provided by other cooperating companies; therefore, your data may be entrusted to: the company providing software for operating the Store, our accounting provider, Website hosting provider, email hosting provider, and other companies whose services and marketing tools we use.

Your data is also disclosed to courier companies and, where applicable, payment intermediaries for the purpose of fulfilling your order. These entities act as separate controllers of personal data.

For the marketing activities described above in the “Cookies” section, we use services provided by entities based in the United States (Google, Facebook). Therefore, personal data may be transferred to third countries outside the European Union. An adequate level of protection is ensured by the Data Privacy Framework program, about which you can read more at: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/s/.

Please remember that you have the right to:

  • rectify your data;

  • delete your data if it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was processed or if we have no other legal basis for processing;

  • withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data, if you have given it;

  • object to the processing of your data where we process it on the basis of legitimate interest;

  • restrict the processing of your data;

  • lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO) if you believe that your data is being processed unlawfully.

Additional information for newsletter subscribers

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will send you marketing information about our products and/or services, e.g. new arrivals, promotions, and special offers.

You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link included in each newsletter or simply by sending us a message.

A modern email marketing system allows us to analyze recipients’ actions, i.e. it provides us with information about whether a given message was opened by you. We analyze such information to better tailor newsletter and notification content to your interests and send you personalized messages (profiling). You may object to such processing of your data at any time.

If a subscriber remains inactive for 1 year, we may stop sending the newsletter. In such a case, we will remove you from our subscriber list (after an additional prior notice).

Your data is not used by us to make decisions based solely on automated processing that could affect your legal situation or produce other similarly significant effects for you.

Further legal information on how we send the newsletter can be found in the Newsletter Terms and Conditions (part of the Store Terms and Conditions).

APPENDIX NO. 1 TO THE PRIVACY POLICY OF THE PERISCOPE Shop for Tall ONLINE STORE

LIST OF ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICAL TOOLS USING COOKIES

ANALYTICAL COOKIES

We use Google Analytics.
Information collected by Google Analytics about users includes, for example: how many times a user visits the website; which subpages they visit; the date of the first and last visit; duration of visits; the website from which the user came (referral source); the browser used; the link clicked; the approximate location from which the user accesses the website; anonymized (shortened) IP address, etc.

Google assigns its own identifier to each user (the so-called Google ID) and stores data obtained from cookies from various websites on its servers. As the Website owner, we may receive reports (statistics) from Google solely related to traffic on our Website. These reports include only users who have consented on our Website to having their visits recorded by Google Analytics.

Further detailed information about Google Analytics can be found at:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245/bezpiecze%C5%84stwo-danych.

You can also permanently prevent Google Analytics from recording information from your browser by installing a dedicated browser add-on available at: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Cookies of our Store software provider

The provider of the software enabling the operation of our Store—i.e. the owner of the shoper.pl platform—places cookies on our Website to collect aggregate information about how customers use online stores (opened subpages and time spent on them, viewed products, clicks on the Store Website, analytics related to purchases such as conversion rates).

This data is used to create aggregate reports for e-store owners, containing general (non-personal) information, e.g. which products customers of a given store are interested in, during which periods of the year traffic or sales increase, etc. This allows sellers (including us) to improve their stores and optimize sales processes.

Full information can be found in the Shoper Cookie Policy for users visiting Shoper stores.

ADVERTISING COOKIES

We use Google Ads and other Google advertising tools.
Google stores on its servers data obtained from cookies placed on your device. This data is collected on all websites where you have allowed Google advertising cookies (including our Website) and from ads you clicked. Google uses this information to display ads on other websites you visit. Typically, Google cookies expire after 3 months.

As advertisers using Google services, we do not have access to the cookie data stored on your device, but we may target ads to audiences defined by selected characteristics, e.g. all people who visited our website (or a specific subpage) within the last 7 days. This data is only statistical material for us, and ads are targeted solely based on aggregated criteria (to target groups, not to individual users).

We may also use tools within Google Marketing Platform to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns (e.g. how many people clicked on an ad within a given period).

More information about how Google uses cookies for advertising and how you can manage ad settings can be found at:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=pl and https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/7549925?hl=pl.

Meta Conversion Pixel (Facebook and Instagram)

We use the Meta “conversion pixel” (remarketing pixel) to manage ads on Facebook and Instagram.

If you consent to this cookie on our Website, Meta Platforms services receive information that you have visited our Website. This information is assigned to your profile on the relevant service if you have one. If you are not a user of these services, the information is assigned to a so-called “Facebook ID” created for you.

This allows us to serve ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who have already visited our Website or specific subpages (remarketing). We then receive from Meta Platforms only statistical data on ad performance (e.g. how many people saw the ad, how many clicked it), without identifying individual users.

If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, we encourage you to read more about data protection on those platforms at:
https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/?entry_point%3Ddata_policy_redirect%26entry%3D0&sa=D and https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388.

More information about Meta remarketing pixel can be found at:
https://www.facebook.com/business/help/742478679120153?id=1205376682832142.

Email marketing

For the newsletter, we use a tool provided by an external company. The email marketing system places cookies on our Website to display subscription forms and measure the effectiveness of those forms (conversion rate).
